John Paul II - A Testimony Judyta Papp takes pictures on the film set. The film is a dramatised documentary, a screen version of Father Cardinal S. Dziwisz's best-selling book about John Paul II, "The Testimony".The picture attempts to show Pope John Paul II (and before that, Father, Bishop and Cardinal Wojtyla) through the eyes of the man who was his Most Important Witness for the majority of his life. The screenplay was co-written by pralate Pawel Ptasznik, Gian Franco Svidercoschi and Paweł Pitera. The film - directed by Paweł Pitera, is co-narrated by the Cracow Bishop himself and by the Hollywood actor Michael York (John the Baptist in Zefirelli's Jesus of Nasareth).
